The Dalai Lama said the world would be saved by the Western Woman.

WomanWhile some women in the Middle East and traditional cultures are oppressed, in the Western World, we are rising. Women in their droves from Oprah Winfrey to Brene Brown are championing a mass awakening to a better way of being. It is we who have a vision. A vision of a New World. A world of compassion, understanding and forgiveness. A world of collaboration, collective and sharing. A world of kindness, harmony and peace. This is an idealised world, seen through the eyes of Love, and one which is in our power to create.

Women care. They care about the plight of the rhino. They care about Monsanto and GMO foods. They care about the health of their children. They care about the men in their lives. They care about the planet, about nature, about what it is to be human. They care about poverty, about the rain forest and about finding solutions to problems which have been created by the old world order.

Women have been subjugated and suppressed in the past and now they are returning to their rightful place among men; equal yet complementary. Men are getting in touch with their feminine side; their compassion, their sense of what is fair and just. All of us carry both masculine and feminine energies, which must be brought into balance for us to function as wholesome beings. The yin and the yang must dance in harmony, each holding a seed of the other, neither more powerfully represented than the other.

What is it to be Woman? True womanhood is the embodiment of that which is Divinely Feminine. The Feminine Principle. The Divine Mother. She resides within men and awakens within women as they tread the path to finding Self. She is the innocent, the maiden full of hope and inspiration. Woman is the nurturer, the encourager. The mother. She gives praise where it is due, building you up rather than knocking you down. Woman is the creator – bringing forth life and growing it in her belly, then raising the child to become the adult. She is the womb of creation.

Woman creates order where there is chaos. She makes a home, organises a family, cooks a meal. Woman is sensual and sexual. She can seduce and entice and has the power to bring a man to his knees. Woman is powerful, like a roll of thunder. Mother Nature. Tsunamis, earthquakes, tornadoes. Woman is fierce. She’s kind and gentle and loving, but if you cross the boundary she has set, she will let loose. Push her too far and she will react, just as Gaia, our planet, is reacting to our constant pushing. Woman is an emotional barometer, showing you how it is. She can be full of rage, she can be full of compassion, or full of sorrow at the cries of the world. Woman is the bringer of joy. She’ll party and dance and light up a room. She’ll network and gossip and laugh with her friends. She brings people together. She’ll organise reunions and reach out to those who stand lonely at the edge. Woman is wise. The Crone (the crowned elder) carries the wisdom of the ancestors, of nature, of intuition. She will sit and listen. She is the power behind the throne and the throne itself. She anchors and grounds. She understands rhythm – the rhythms of dance, of drumming, of her body. The rhythms of nature. And if she stays in tune with her ancient wisdom, her inheritance, following its call through the avalanche of logic and onslaught of the modern world, she can save us from our own nemesis.

It’s time for the return. The Divine Mother has been in exile. She is coming home jubilant, to men and to women alike. She’s waking us from our slumber and telling us to look. Wake up and smell the coffee. Wake up and smell the roses. Wake up!
